Turneffe Atoll Snorkel

In addition to all Raggamuffin Tours excellent snorkeling tours we offer the opportunity to snorkel the beautiful atoll of Turneffe by motor boat and not by sailboat.

The Turneffe Atoll is located outside the shelter of the inner reef where much of the major tourism traffic resides. The often rough seas outside the inner reef ensure that the atoll remains remote from any major infrastructure from both a tourism and population perspective. It is this remoteness that allows some of the most healthy reef in the world to thrive with the lack of traffic. However, it also prevents this tour from departing more regularly as high winds can often cancel or even postpone trips if the Captain deems that the journey out to the atoll could be uncomfortable or even dangerous for the passenger.

The advantage of the Turneffe Atoll is the health of the coral reef, the crystal clear waters and beautiful tropical fishes that passengers encounter. It tends to be a trip undertaken by persons who are more experienced snorkelers or free divers.

The tour is a three stop snorkeling tour with lunch on a small island. The tour departs at 8.30am and returns at approximately 4pm and the price of the tour is $75US.

The tour does not depart every day as it requires a minimum number of 6 passengers to depart. For those who are interested in taking this tour it is recommended to allow a couple of days flexibility to ensure that minimum numbers can be gathered together. Reservations are welcomed and confirmation of the tour will be given the eve of departure at between 5 – 6pm.
